In this week’s episode, Kat and Rashida interview Dr. Lisa Sawicki. Lisa is the founder of Rise and Science and recently graduated from the University of Delaware with her PhD in Chemical Engineering, where she worked in the lab of Professor April Kloxin. She is currently employed at Boehringer Ingelheim. She shares with us her graduate work on developing synthetic tissues to study breast cancer recurrence, as well as her passion for science communication. In our science news segment, Rashida reports on the recent FDA-approval of Novartis’ Kymriah, the first US-approved gene therapy for cancer treatment.
